Over the years, LoveHandlers has rescued horses from situations of neglect. Some were starved to skin and bones. Some were blind. Our rescued horses come from many backgrounds including abuse, the stock yards intended for slaughter, abandonment in the Florida Everglades, or they have just simply been surrendered. Now with 20 resident horses as part of LoveHandlers, we're proud of the rehabilitation being done to show these exquisite animals the love and kindness their wonderful souls deserve.
About our barn and horse pastures
Most of the horses have access to year-round pastures of fresh grass and are fed hay during the winter months. Some new arrivals or new mothers and their babies are in a six-stall barn with the hope of someday soon building a larger one.
Pastures are owned/rented and vary in size up to about 40 acres. This allows for a comfortable space for the horses to roam and exercise, all located in the beautiful environment of the Great Smoky Mountains.
We're always in need...
...of good quality hay and we do accept hay as a donation.
Both round and square bales are greatly appreciated.
